Week 2 in 3BC…

What a super second week we have had in 3BC! We are all getting more familiar with the routines of Year 3 and have been excited to begin the first topics of the year. The children have wowed us with their enthusiastic attitudes.

In our writing lessons, we focused on the text ‘Tell Me A Dragon’ by Jackie Morris. We enjoyed creating our own dragon and then worked hard to write some sentences to describe it. How amazing they all are…

We kick started our place value learning in Maths and over the next few weeks we will be looking at numbers to 1000. To help us to develop a secure understanding of this, we have used the Base Ten to make different numbers and then used part-part-whole models to partition them.

We were all very excited to begin our first History topic! For this, we need to travel back a very very long time ago to The Stone Age. Life in Britain looked incredibly different to how it is today! To help us begin to understand how people lived during this time, we read the story ‘Stone Age Boy’. We were fascinated to learn how so many things could be made using flint! We already have so many questions about life during this time which we’ll hopefully find the answers to over the next few weeks.

We ended the week planting some wheat seeds with Mrs Wake…
